Canterbury Christ Church University has just given a further 200 computers to an African School’s programme in Zimbabwe.
The Computing Services team at the University found this resourceful way of recycling ‘redundant’ IT equipment after carefully researching companies and charities that would most benefit from the donation.
James Thompson, User Technology Support Officer at the University said: “Simply throwing away that much equipment and old computers seemed like a huge waste. We wanted to add more purpose to our recycling initiative and therefore decided to donate them to a specialised charity."
